Open late and every day of the week, we’re here when you need us.

  • Ear or eye infections
  • Skin problems or allergic reactions, like hives, itching, or swelling

Common questions  about
Urgent Vet Care

Owners trust us with the animals they love, and we don’t take that lightly.

Can you see my pet today?

Often, yes. We keep room for same-day urgent pet visits for sick or injured pets at both our animal hospitals. Call Toronto North or Parliament and we'll find the soonest time, the same day wherever possible.

What kinds of problems count as urgent?

Urgent problems are sudden and can’t wait for a routine appointment: vomiting, diarrhea, limping, wounds, ear or eye infections, allergic reactions, or a pet who suddenly isn’t eating or acting normally. If you’re unsure whether your pet needs to be seen, call us and we’ll help you decide.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Calling ahead is best, even for urgent visits, because it lets us prepare for your pet and gives you the shortest wait. Same-day appointments are usually available, and walk-ins are welcome during opening hours when we have capacity.

How late are you open?

Our North York clinic is open 10am to 11pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 10pm on Sunday. Our Parliament clinic in Cabbagetown is open until 7pm most days, with shorter hours on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Both are open 7 days a week.

What can you treat during an urgent visit?

A lot. Our experienced vet team can assess and treat wounds, infections, vomiting and diarrhea, pain and limping, allergic reactions, and many sudden illnesses, with in-house X-rays and lab work for fast answers. If your pet needs surgery, we can often handle that here too.

Available at both clinics

Urgent visits can be booked at either location, by phone or online. Our North York pet clinic stays open the latest, as late as 11pm.
